at first glance you may not notice it, but there’s a black bird on one of the ledges.

we watched an amazing group of aztec dancers perform at the indian summer festival.

this may very well be one of the last photographs of the sky gliders at summerfest in milwaukee since i’ve heard that they’re going to be torn down.

some of the largest kites i’ve ever seen were part of milwaukee’s kite fest going on this past weekend.

after taking a few shots of this spider, it got a little defensive and wedged itself as far as it could.
our kodak isn’t as fancy as the canon rebel i get to sometimes use, so shots like this have to be done in macro mode.

i saw this huge spider hanging out on one of our outbuildings. not sure of the exact type of spider though.

this shot was taken moments after this one. i had put the lens cap on already and looked up again and in that split second i saw the building, the moon, a plane and a bird. i would have captured them all had i not put the camera away, but i snapped this one as quick as i could and was able to at least get the moon and the plane in it. it’s all about timing i suppose.

this is the Santiago Calatrava-designed Milwaukee Art Museum. i was hoping the “wings” of the Burke Brise Soleil would have been open for this photo, but i still like it a lot.
as the days get shorter, the sun will be lower and lower each morning when i get to this part of milwaukee. i’d like to take this shot again just as the sun is coming up.

i believe this was some sort of reflection pool near the entrance to the milwaukee art museum. i just thought that the way it was still in the shadow of the building looked interesting among all the surrounding angles.

i was planning to just take a dramatic closeup of the building as it rose to the sky, and as i looked up the moon was still hanging around.

one of these mornings i need to actually stop and take some pictures of the fog or haze or whatever it is that lingers in the fields on some mornings. i took this one from the commuter and it looks more like sand art than what it really is.

view from our front porch: this combine took down a cornfield already. we get the better view now, but it only means that winter is that much closer.

d’s had this goldfish for many years now. she saved it from a fish store’s feeder tank. it lives with a grumpy plecostomus named sucky.
