our friend lives in the convent house at the front of the property. this priest house in the back is a bit creepy. it’s in the midst of a restoration.

i actually punched a 541 to win the left handed match (3rd place in the right haded match), but when i took the photo it had changed to 600 and the high score below it looks like it changed from 997 to 666. weird.

Fire at Sunburst Ski Area

i was out snowboarding on friday with steveo and i had brought my digital camera and underwater case so we could do some filming for the show. we shot a bunch of footage of us going down the hill and then wrapped it up by having a beer at the car before we put the camera away and continued to ride the hill.

on one of the trips back up on the lift, i noticed some smoke coming from one of the buildings and could tell that a fire had just started. so as soon as we got off the chair, i went down the hill as fast as i could and then ran to the car to get the camera so i could film the event. luckily the chair lift hadn’t stopped yet since a lot of people were stuck up there and i wouldn’t have been able to film any of it. i shot a lot of footage, including a shot up close when a propane tank or something similar exploded. it was a pretty crazy day to see all this fire and then have it start to snow at the same time.

fortunately no one was hurt, but sunburst apparently took a $500,000 hit.

hanging out with JBOT

we saw Captured! by Robots last night in Milwaukee. great show! the whole “Dubya” theme was awesome. best set I’ve seen them do so far.

I helped JBOT break down all the robots after the show and load them into his RV. he followed us to the farm and stayed the night. it was very cool hanging out with him today as we showed him around the homestead. his visit ended as we ate dinner and watched the movie Bug before he left for Fargo.

you really should catch his show if you can. I’m looking forward to seeing it again this friday in madison. hope to see you there.

updating with my iPhone

you know, I seem to update twitter more often on my phone but I hadn’t updated my blog yet from it. so here goes… no 140 character limit and the wordpress interface works just fine on the phone too.

it may be more of a pain to link to things, but if it’s that important I can always update a post once I’m back on my MacBook.

we make fun of that movie and always make things have 23 in them, but i just realized that today, september 23rd, our day of many anniversaries, is the number 23.

13 years ago on september 23rd, i met dawn miceli.
3 years ago on september 23rd, dawn and i started this little internet radio show.
2 years ago on september 23rd, i quit my job due to that show.
