Turns out there is a game of Blog-Tag going around the blogosphere in which bloggers are sharing five things about themselves that relatively few people know, and then tagging five other bloggers to be “it.”

Five Things about me that relatively few people know:

1. back when i was a little skate punk riding halfpipes and empty pools in sounthern california, my claim to fame trick was a backside ollie. i was never that good at backside airs where you’d grab the board on your way out of the ramp or pool, but i could pull off a pretty sweet backside ollie with no hands instead.

2. in our house when it’s time to wrap gifts for birthdays, weddings, holidays, etc, i’m the one who does the wrapping. dawn will usually add some final touches, but it’s me doing the actual wrapping of the present. it’s a “gift” i guess.

3. most people that know me understand that i’m a bit obsessed with split window volkswagen buses. pre 1968 that is. i currently own my 5th version of this versatile vehicle, but what most don’t know is that my first true car love was the vw karmann ghia. in fact the first car i ever owned was a 1966 karmann ghia that needed a little work. as a kid i dreamed of having a corvette, but when it was time to buy a car, the corvette was way out of my budget, and a fixer ghia was within it. it wasn’t long after that its cousin the transporter would steal me away for good. now a vw bus with the power of a corvette… that’s another story.

4. i almost always have some sort of drum beat going on in my head and i’m usually clicking my tounge ring around in my mouth to the beat.

5. just like drew did when he tagged me, i’ll save #5 for the people that i’m tagging.
